To keep your new home long lasting, here are a few quick tips to prepare for winter weather!*

  • Disconnect the exterior hose from your hose bib. This prevents your hose bib from freezing and breaking.
  • Clean exterior drains so they are free from leaves and debris. This will prevent build-up and ensure proper drainage.
  • Flush 3–5 gallons from the hot water tank to remove any sediment that may have built up.
  • Change your furnace filter between the return air and blower to maximize efficiency and minimize energy costs.
  • Change your smoke detector batteries to ensure 24/7 safety from fire and smoke. Make sure to match positive (+) and negative (-) ends.

*Note: this is not a comprehensive list; additional maintenance may be required.
